4 - 11 August 2016
Expressions of Interest Sought
New Zealand has previously sent a team to this regatta in 2012 and again in 2014. The experience gained from those regattas would suggest that, whilst it was a fantastic experience, it would be perhaps best viewed as an opportunity to experience a different sailing location and culture and use it as a means to build familiarity in traveling internationally to a regatta.
The team is limited to 6 sailors and 2 adults. It is suggested, unless a parent is traveling, it may not suit the younger sailors as the conditions were full of new experiences. The regatta is not available at this stage to any sailor who has been selected to represent NZIODA in 2016 (Worlds, NAMS, Euros, Asians and New Caledonia Development Team).
Expressions of interest are sought by 10th of June 2016 to be considered for selection. If more than 6 sailors apply final selection will be based off the 2016 National Ranking List.
Details of the regatta as provided by Qingdao Yachting Association are below.
Please email davidclarke@zebracrossing.co.nz or phone 027 539 0094 by the 10th of June if you are interested in attending.
