Maraetai Sailing Club are very excited to announce they will once again be hosting the Optimist Auckland Champs over Auckland Anniversary weekend 25th, 26th, 27th January 2020!
For those that have experienced the previous Auckland Champs regattas at Maraetai, I’m sure there will be no doubt that this will once again be a fantastic event! Although MSC is one of the smaller Auckland clubs, the team pride themselves offering exceptional hospitality with great assistance launching and retrieving, very well organised race management setup, a great array of prizes and delicious catering to boot!
Some of the natural advantages at Maraetai include easy access and parking, spacious reserve area and all tide launching and retrieving. The regatta team also provide for overnight security services and provisions for wash-down after each day on the water.
The 2020 Auckland Champs will be once again be combined with the Starling and 29er classes. Also including the Paper Tiger class joining for the Saturday and Sunday, we are anticipating a great turnout for this Regatta!
Don’t forget that the Auckland Champs has now been re-instated by NZIODA as a ranking regatta and this event will also incorporate the ‘White’ fleet within the race format.
