The 1st Wainui South Island Opti Clinic was held on the stunning Akaroa harbour between the 18th and 22nd December. Charlie Baille-Strong's energy and leadership over the entire event was evident. Charlie and the coaches squeezed in sessions on starting, upwind, downwind, rules, rigging and reaching. They also ran an afternoon of teams racing and a 3 race regatta on the final day. Well done to the 36 sailors and 5 coaches who took part, your enthusiasm for sailing and learning was inspiring.
