The clinic is an annual five-day course run by the NZ International Optimist Dinghy Association Inc. We expect attendees to be competent fleet racers who have previously contested at least two major regattas (2 or 3-day events) such as North or South Island Optimist Champs or National Optimist Championships, Auckland Champs, Winter Champs, Sir Peter Blake Regatta etc.

We expect attendees to be competent fleet racers who have previously contested at least two good sized regattas, ideally the Winter Champs, North or South Island Optimist Champs or National Optimist Championships, Auckland Champs, Winter Champs, Sir Peter Blake Regatta etc.
The SI Optimist Clinic was held once again in Wainui for the 3rd year in a row and in my opinion has been the most successful to date.

Dear Sailors and Parents
HSS welcomes all Laser, Europe, Zoom 8, 29er, and Optimist sailors to attend the HSS Downtown Clinic, held at HSS (Helsingfors Segelsällskap) on Liuskasaari Island, Helsinki, Finland.
The main aim of the clinic is to improve the skills of all participants during four days of intensive training and activities in inspiring company under skilled, and recognised coaches.
Note a boat and a billet will be provided.

The Volvo Ocean Race (VOR) is expected to arrive in Auckland from Sanya, China between February 25th and March 5th 2015. With the leg to Itajai, Brazil starting on Sunday March 15th 2015.
On the weekend of Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th of March the VOR organisers are running an optimist based Team Racing clinic and a three day (Friday to Sunday) ISAF Team Racing Umpires Clinic.

Noumea Optimist Clinic 3rd to 7th September 2012
The Noumea optimist training squad of Guy van der Wilt, Greta Stewart, Max Gibbs, William Shapland, Tom Hyde, Logan Beckman, Rose McKenzie, Crystal Sun and Matt Wylie arrived in Noumea unsure of what was ahead of them, and with a little trepidation of being billeted by a local Noumean sailing family (ok, there was lots of trepidation!). What unfolded over the course of the week was a fantastic cultural and sailing experience which the young sailors will never forget.

Entries are now open for the 2015 NZIODA Opti Clinic to be held at Eastern Beach 12-16 January. This is a premier Opti training clinic and one not to be missed—entries are limited so please register as soon as possible. Enrolment closes on 5th December 2014.
NZIODA have again been invited to submit 8 teams to the 2015 Volvo Ocean Race Opti Team's racing (more details to follow) in the meantime click for entry criteria and an intro about the event. There will be plenty for all opti sailors to see and do and a great overall spot prize open to all. Importantly you must have attended either the Wainui or Eastern Beach Opti Clinics to be eligible for selection for one of the 8 teams.

Deadline for entries has been extended until the end of October.
The clinic is a four-day course and will be the premier coaching clinic for Open Opti sailors in the South Island this summer. Up to 30 spaces are available for financial members of NZIODA. Sailors must be able to independently rig, launch, and retrieve their own fiberglass Opti and have some racing experience at Open or Green Fleet level at a recent major regatta (e.g. Picton Interislander, Canterbury Age Groups, Nationals).
